Rookie en groot talent in de Nederlandse autosportwereld Cor Lems jr. is vrijdagavond op tragische wijze om het leven gekomen bij een eenzijdig auto ongeluk. De jonge coureur van team Mild Seven Up Holland verloor in een flauwe bocht in het Brabantse plaatsje Klunderr de macht over het stuur en was op slag dood. Lems behaalde eerder die week zijn eerste officiele overwinning bij de profs en mocht op veel sympathie rekenen van zijn collega coureurs in de autosportwereld.

Cor Lems Jr. werd slechts 21'jaar.
