Gilles Villeneuve Memorial Tour - Private Series

I'm proud to announce the inaugural run of the Gilles Villeneuve Memorial Tour, a private F3 series to honour one of the most iconic race car drivers ever. We will visit the famous venues of his great victories and most inspired drives, starting at Trois Rivieres in Canada, where Gilles impressed (and beat) some of the top F1 drivers in a Formula Atlantic race, paving his path into Grand Prix Racing. Next stop is Silverstone where the Canadian driver introduced his finding-the-limit-from-above technique and amazing car control to the european crowds. We will visit Fiorano, the new "home track" for the rest of his short career with Ferrari as well as Montreal, the circuit bearing his name, and of course Dijon-Prenois, home of the Swiss GP and an incredible wheel banging three-lap battle like Formula1 never witnessed again. It didn't matter much to Gilles that they did not fight for the lead - his idea of fun was a close fight and huge opposite lock slides. If you want to win in the dutch dunes of Zandvoort, you better avoid wrecking your car like Gilles did in '79 in a most spectacular way. Next on the calendar are Monaco and Jarama, where nobody could beat 'Il piccolo canadese' in a dog of a car, and we end the season at Imola, venue of Gilles' last race.
Everybody is invited to join the nostalgia tour - ten single race events, race lenght varies (its 50 % of the real life distance), 26 slots on the grid, all available price money is thrown at the top 5 finishers.
