8-Season Vet Wins 2nd Rookie Series Title

Russian Formula 3 driver Aleksandr Griboedov finalized his claim on the Season 9 Rookie Series Sunday, dominating the field and carrying a 114-point overall victory over 2nd place Rob Northway Jr. of New Zealand.

This wasn't Griboedov's first rodeo in the Rookie Series, having now run it 8 times. His Season 9 victory is a repeat of his Season 7 performance, and his 3rd time finishing in the series's top-5 overall. He managed an astounding 11 victories in the Season 9 campaign, which more than doubled his previous best of 5 wins in Season 8. He hit the stage 14 times of a possible 20, besting his previous high point of 12 podiums in the series.

Griboedov is known for his technical perfection. Managing the machine and it's components as well as any of the world's top drivers. He was nearly untouchable in the series, winning almost every time he finished. Northway Jr., Coehlo, and von Rennberg were the only consistent challengers as Griboedov drove away with the series.

It was a tremendous Rookie Series campaign for the 8-year veteran from Russia, leaving many of his competitors wondering, "is this series for me?"
