There is a much deeper story that goes beyond the massive point lead that Tiago Tejo has created. If you check out Tejo's record you will notice that he reeled of a string of poles and victories early in the season to create a massive lead. If you examine more recent races including week 9 races, you will notice that over the past 6 races (3 weeks) not only has Tejo not hit the podium but he has struggled to make the top ten in only 3 of those outings.

So what's really happening? The fact is that as the season has progressed the top rookie racers have found themselves getting matched against each other in the same races. As we focus on those races we see an interesting pattern developing.

So if Tiego isn't leading the pack in these races, who is? This as where we introduce a 21 year old Italian named Andrea Luce. In those 6 races Luce has led qualifications with the pole position and has 3 victories and 2 second place finishes.

Over the course of the season, Tejo and Luce both have 9 victories, but Luce has 7 poles compared to Tejo's 4. While Tejo leads the rookie series with 739 points, Luce sits in fourth position with 643 points.

In this manager's opinion, Luce is the driver to watch in future races and race fans should not be surprised if 18 year old future star Tejo fades down the stretch.
