Breakthrough for Smith

Promising American rookie driver Jimmy Smith scored the first series points of his young career in the first race of the Huachalalume stop in the Orange custom series. After knocking on the door in the first two stops at Bernardo O'Higgins and Codegua, Smith broke through and claimed a 7th place finish despite finishing two laps behind race winner Paolo Gil Villanova, with Smith having qualified 13th. Smith now will turn his attention to the Rookie Series race at Buenos Aires before returning to action at Huachalalume.
