While even I dream of winning F1 championship. I cannot help but notice how tough the Gold Cup is to win.. While many who think other series are tougher they are not just more prestigious.. Driving around in circles on oval track may seem simple.. Seems even more simple on car setups..

But lets add up the speeds you must take each turn when lap speeds are much faster then F1 cars ever see.. Where length of the average race is greater then Indy.. Where the cars weigh twice as much as any other race.. Races are longer then any other race.. Where tire strategies are greater for each team then any other type of racing.. You get Nascar Gold Cup racing..

I have been personally down several times in my past 2 season there where Dnf's drove me insane.. I had 2 Dnf's in consecutive races.. The very next Race my Driver Foyt pulled off his first podium ever there at 25.. In that podium the Number 1 Driver leading the championship Dnfed early.. The very next race my driver same exact strategy as podium finished 10th.. The Number 1 driver Woeger Dnfed very early again..

To me all this showed How tough it is just to Finish a Gold cup race.. Skill helps.. Good strategy on race day Helps.. Good car setups Helps.. But in races where there are 200+ laps and goes over 3 hours anything can and will happen on any race.. So everyone in Gold cup will face DNF's .. This makes Gold Cup tougher just to finish then any other Series.. Tests you skills more then F1 after 2 hours the stamina burn alone tests you skills like no other.. Car setups need to be perfect.. Driver aggression needs to be low enough to prevent mistakes yet high enough to make many passes without crashing out... To be competitive you have to take some risks if you don't you will never win.. This makes Gold Cup tougher and more competitive then F1.. The Driver skills all of them come to play every race and the strategies that win are different every race.. That happens every day of the season series!
